Chesapeake is in Virginia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Chesapeake is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Virginia's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

The staff is very good and the availability to play mid day was great. That is the only reason for two stars. The greens are in terrible condition. Not one or two. All of them. Not parts of it. All of it. I know they had an issue with dried out greens, followed by over watering. But these arenโt gonna rebound til next year. See you then.

This is the worst managed course in the Hamptons. First of all, they act like their course is on the PGA Tour. I had one tire, in the dirt, on a cart path only day and the Marshall decided to have me walk all the way back to move my cart, just to walk back and hit my ball. The course itself is in horrible shape, let alone, none of the yardages match any app you play on. The yardages on the scorecard, do not match accurate full yardages. This used to be a nice course, but the new owners ruined it.

This is a very walkable course, but management doesn't allow players to walk the course on the weekends. They also don't allow players to play just 9 holes on the weekends. Never mind that a bogey golfer can easily play 18 here in 2.5 hours while walking (as I have multiple times on weekdays). Management said the no-walking policy is due to pace of play concerns, but there are other ways to enforce that. I've never seen policies like these at a walkable mediocre course before. Instead, they require players to take their old, noisy, smelly diesel carts. Who needs exercise and fresh air when you can drive around sucking diesel fumes instead? Hopefully theyโll start better serving their customers soon by allowing players of all types to enjoy the course, even on weekends.

BEWARE! Not even 1 star should be allowed for this. We just had a golf tournament here yesterday and my god this was the worst experience I have ever had in terms of playing conditions on a golf course. I canโt believe they let this tournament be held here in these conditions. This is embarrassing. I have played here for 20+ years and I wouldnโt even call this a golf course anymore at this point. They shouldnโt even allowed to be open in these conditions, let alone have people pay to play in these conditions. You canโt blame the weather for conditions like this. This is pure neglect. No course nearby is even close to these terrible conditions. Nearly every green is unplayable. Most tee boxes and basically all greens are full of weeds and fungus if anything at all. And if it rains here anytime within a few days of your tee time, be prepared for a mud fest and cart path only, although this course has never really drained very well prior to these conditions. The pictures speak for themselves and it is like this on nearly every single hole. It is coming to a point where they should just think about closing the course down for a major maintenance period or they should just close all tog
